PRE-HOLIDAY STRESS RELIEF FITNESS + HEALTH!

Pre-Xmas and Xmas are definitely a great social time but also STRESSFUL and we know that can put a strain on your health and fitness efforts that have been made for the last few months.

I talk a lot about damage limitation inside my groups but I also encourage downtime and social time with friends as it's SO IMPORTANT to mental/emotional health!


Enjoy festivities and enjoy your training and (partly) healthy food - YOU CAN DO IT!


As for alcohol hmmmmmm that's a little trickier but there are still things you can do to limit the morning-after gloom!

‌

1. Let's make sure you stay active and have a fun season. Change the way you think of exercise this month, perhaps virtual fitness classes or plan walks/ runs to keep moving and stay fit.


2. Mindful eating is key to enjoying the holiday treats without feeling guilty. I personally keep my meals as healthy as I can so I can enjoy some extra frills for dessert or snacks - of course!


3. Hydration is crucial, especially during the festive season. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, especially if you're treating yourself to some holiday drinks and desserts. With alcohol always compensate by drinking a glass of water for every glass of booze (toilet visits will be very frequent but all worth it the morning after!)

4. If you are in my groups I know you understand the importance of rest and recovery. Prioritise quality sleep to recharge your body and mind. Take some time to unwind, relax, and indulge in self-care activities that help you feel rejuvenated in between the madness!


5. Stress relief! Take time to BREATHE! It's all fun and games until the tight chest pangs, blood pressure markers rise and headaches increase!


Slow down just a little now and then…… inform the support system…..take care of number one.
