Happy 1st September!
Its Birthday Month and I’d like to share my take on “health and happiness” as an “almost” 50 year old x
So many women I know have overcome major obstacles in their lives to become the powerful women they are today.
Continuing to see the good in others even when life has thrown divorce, navigating co-parenting, caring for ageing parents, battling illnesses and high powered jobs, being there for e v e r y o n e!
In our younger years, responsibilities are less, we have more time to focus on what WE WANT and NEED. What will we buy next or wear? Having the time to go through the motions of what life throws and tackling things in timely manners. EVEN IF life got fast, we had the YOUNG energy to handle it. Still slept well and eating “almost” anything we wanted and still got into our skinny tight jeans :)
Couple decades later, few major “bumps” on the way, seems like more women reporting earlier peri-meno symptoms. Stress induced autoimmune diseases, juggling kids, relationships and utterly STARVED FOR TIME - the squeeze is real here.
Outcome? No time for themselves.Let alone focusing on fitness and healthy food!
Health takes a decline, mindset starts taking a turn.
Women start to lose themselves and give up on their dreams and aspirations. They put themselves last on the list, end of the queue.
So my tips?
Even if its an extra CHORE, put that short workout in daily
Organise meals and bulk cook (can’t stress how important this is)
Surround yourself with positive action orientated people
When something doesn't go to plan, draw a line and try again the following day x
Yes Natalie, it all looks good on paper…….but I physically don’t have the capacity to do it.
I get it - its tough.
But everything worthwhile has never been easy to accomplish x
I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS
For you, for your family, for those around you - they’ll get the best version of you - a thriving happy YOU x
Conclusion!
Through all the ups and downs, mum guilt + balance, talking about relationships, identity, comparison, how to handle the negatives of others, intention, vulnerability, shame and how embracing the journey—all along the way—is the key to success and happiness right?
It is DESPITE all of the above that we continue to move forwards.
I feel so blessed that, through the community created, and therefore providing the space for women to stay empowered and strong we can only live a life of better fulfilment and joy - no matter the outside noise x
Embrace / Accept / Kick Ass!
